How this works
Search finds a ghazal in this curated library and scans its opening sher live. We don't auto-fetch full lyrics — most film & modern ghazals are in copyright and there is no licensed source, so the library keeps only the opening couplet (a short excerpt) and grows by hand in batches toward 100. For anything not here, paste the lines into the Taqti tool and it will scan them. The bahr is identified by this site's rule-based arūz engine and checked against known scansions; a line is shown only once it scans cleanly, and ~ check marks one that leans on more licences.
